With the objective of broadening the scope of social service and, more importantly, promoting greater participation and leadership opportunities for women in sports and community development, H2O Marine Tech decided to establish an independent social organization by bringing together the talented women swimmers working within the organization.
This vision led to the birth of the Mermaid Foundation, an organization dedicated to women's empowerment, the promotion of swimming, and various social welfare activities.
Many women swimmers associated with H2O Marine Tech have achieved remarkable success at district, state, national, and international swimming competitions, earning prestigious medals and recognition. The Foundation aims to utilize their experience, expertise, and achievements to inspire and benefit women and girls across society.
Today, although numerous residential societies and housing complexes in Mumbai possess swimming pool facilities, many women and girls are unable to make use of these amenities due to the shortage of qualified female swimming instructors. To bridge this gap, the trained women swimmers of Mermaid Foundation will provide safe, reliable, and professional swimming instruction by conducting training programs directly within residential communities and societies.
Furthermore, the Foundation intends to organize special swimming training programs for school and college girls, working women, and women entrepreneurs by utilizing swimming facilities available at municipal swimming pools on a rental basis.
One of the Foundation's primary objectives is to promote the importance of swimming as a means of building confidence, ensuring personal safety, encouraging self-defense awareness, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle among women.
Naturally, initiatives of this nature require both financial and social support for successful implementation and expansion. The Foundation firmly believes that with the cooperation, encouragement, and blessings of citizens, institutions, organizations, and well-wishers from all sections of society, these efforts can be carried out on a much larger and more impactful scale.
In the years ahead, Mermaid's numerous initiatives aimed at the holistic development of women, the promotion of sports, and the strengthening of social responsibility within communities.
